Hello! My name is Sophia Schellinck and I am a second year student majoring in business at the Vancouver Island University. I will be running a local Scholars Edge Painting business in your neighborhood this summer. We are a student-operated painting company that helps university scholars like myself get the “hands-on” experience I need for the future, all while providing you with excellent painting and customer service. Going above and beyond has been a habit of mine from highschool; when I was student council president and captain of the swim team, I worked hard to ensure that everything ran smoothly and efficiently in a positive atmosphere. I plan to carry the skills I learned into this summer with Scholars Edge Painting. Scholar’s Edge has given me a head-start in my future academic and business goals, gaining experience and knowledge that will go towards my Bachelor of International Business and Bachelor of Management as well as my future career related to international business.

Hi, my name is Sean Armstrong. I am a first year business student at the University of Alberta. I have lived in Spruce Grove for 10 years and have represented my community within many facets such as clubs and groups within my school as well as serving on the Youth Advisory Council for Searle Turton, the MLA for Spruce Grove-Stony Plain. This is my first year as an operator with Scholars Edge and I am certain that this will be an exciting time of growth for me. I hope to advance my skills as an entrepreneur and serve my community throughout the summer. In the past, I have worked as a supervisor for Spruce Grove Dairy Queen, and my top priority was ensuring customer satisfaction. I will be proud to bring this same attitude to my customers as an operator for Scholars Edge and will ensure that all customers feel pleasantly served. Throughout school, I have been able to work very hard to attain scholarships and understand the value of providing maximal effort into all the facets of my life. I will continue these behaviors and work to build a successful business over the summer that provides quality painting.
