My name is Galen and I am entering my 5th year with Scholars Edge. I studied Economics at the University of Victoria which is where I first heard about this opportunity. The Scholars Edge experience appealed to me because I have a keen interest in business and I was looking for a summer job where I would learn a new skill set to build my resume.
I was especially drawn to this program because of the culture that exists amongst the operators. Being around a group of like minded people who have big goals in business and in life has allowed me to grow a lot as a person. Before Scholars Edge I had done a variety of service industry and labor jobs. I was very excited to be doing something where my effort would directly lead to my success and profit.
I ran my Scholars Edge business over 4 summers, employing more than 30 people and completing over 300 projects. This year I have taken on the role of General Manager. I look forward to coaching this year's group of operators and helping them have the experience of a lifetime.
