Galen Malthouse

My name is Galen and I am entering my 6th year with Scholars Edge. I studied Economics at the University of Victoria, which is where I began my journey with Scholars Edge. I originally planned on running my business for one summer to gain work experience and to earn enough money to pay for school. At the end of the summer in 2018 I had the same feeling that I have since seen countless operators feel - the desire to return and surpass what I had acheived the previous summer.

This reoccured for three consecutive years in which I produced over $920,000 worth of paint jobs and employed more than 30 people. In 2022 I took on the role of District Manager for Vancouver Island. This gave me the opportunity to mentor students who, like myself, were drawn to the idea of running their own businesses. The experience I have gained since I signed up on a clipboard in my Economics class is incomparable to anything I could see myself doing at this point in my life.

I am extremely fortunate to be working with a group of exceptionally driven individuals who push me every day to be a better version of myself. This year I have taken on the role of General Manager. More specifically, I will be supporting students in the Lower Mainland and Okanagan. I look forward to coaching this year's group of operators and helping them have the experience of a lifetime.

Keelan Campbell

Hi I’m Keelan! I am currently serving as District Manager of Scholars Edge’s Northern Alberta operations. I have been a part of Scholars Edge since my first summer operating a business on Vancouver Island in 2017. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of working with countless amazing entrepreneurs both a franchisee and a District Manager.

I have worked all over BC and Alberta since becoming a District Manager in 2020 but I currently reside in Edmonton.

My interests include anything automotive, playing the electric guitar, hockey and finance. I also have a Bachelors of Commerce degree which I attained from the University of Victoria.

If you have any questions regarding either our management program or painting services, I would be happy to help you or connect you with the operator in your area!

Mackenzie Nordli

My name is Mac and I am entering my 4th year with Scholars Edge. I studied business at Trinity Western where I played on the varsity rugby team and volunteered as an assistant strength coach. Initially, this experience appealed to me because I could apply the theoretical knowledge I gained in class to a business I built alongside a mentor over the summer.

After having a very successful first year with the program I came back for another two summers to refine my skills and learn how to scale my business. Over that time, my team and I completed more than 180 painting projects; set a rookie operator revenue record; received the operator of the year award and awards for sales and marketing. From that experience, I have immense knowledge of generating leads, selling painting contracts, motivating teams, and running an incredibly organized and profitable painting business.

Now, I am returning for another year as a District Manager in Calgary, to give a new group of ambitious students the same learning opportunity I had. I aim to help each student I mentor run the most profitable business possible while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Stefan Klimach

Hello, my name is Stefan Klimach and I am the District Manager for Vancouver Island. I am starting my 4th year with Scholars Edge and previously ran my business in Victoria, BC, for three consecutive years prior to joining the management team. I love my sports, especially soccer, and will spend my free time kicking around a ball with friends and playing in my local community soccer league when I get the chance. Competitiveness, discipline, and unyielding work ethic are factors that have driven me through my years with this company as well as my career as a Bachelor of Commerce student at the University of Victoria, where I am in my 3rd year of studying.

I am very fortunate to be working with a rare group of students who have decided to take on the challenge of running their very own business with Scholars Edge this year, and look forward to mentoring and providing all of my knowledge accrued throughout my experience to maximize the potential these young entrepreneurs have unlocked.
